Webinar on petroleum Industry outlook post COVID-19

Technomekanics, an Indian organization organized an exclusive webinar on ‘Petroleum Industry- Outlook Post COVID-19’ on the 14th of June, 2020 to cater to the needs of professionals and students all across the globe to acquire knowledge on the post-COVID-19 scenario in the Petroleum Industry. Sara El Boustani, Operation Engineer, Vantage Drilling was the guest speaker for the session who holds a distinction in Petroleum Engineering from the Lebanese American University.

The webinar session was insightful as well as informative with the light on the handful of major areas of Petroleum Industry comprising of Oil and Gas Market, Shale Revolution, Negative oil WTI price in the global market, consequences of COVID-19 on oil-importing as well as exporting countries with emphasis on different aspects and a clear remark on the future of the industry and preparedness of the student community. While speaking about the oil and gas markets, the speaker emphasized the demand and supply chain of crude and natural gas which is of utmost importance in the industry. She also enlightened the fact of the Shale Revolution and simultaneously spoke about the increase of crude oil marketing by Russia amidst the lockdown across the globe due to COVID-19. The participants were delighted to know about the WTI as well as Brent crude and the recent downfall of WTI oil prices. Meanwhile, the speaker significantly emphasized on the policies and the trade of oil-importing and exporting countries with special reference to environmental, industrial, economical as well as employability concerns.

Moreover, one of the best parts of the session was the speaker’s recommendations and suggestions on the preparedness and strategical approach of the students to develop their career in the field of oil and gas which comprised of adoption of social networks like Linkedin and online courses as well as webinars amidst the COVID-19 outbreak and stated that this would help them flourish and attain success in the near the future which was followed by a question-answer session.

The host ended the webinar which was graced by about 100 participants across the globe with a special vote of thanks and a feedback note.
