Robots and the Ocean-
You might know the field of robotics us as deep as the ocean. We always find a way to involve robotics in any industry or sector and the ocean is no different. In this 21st century, the importance of robotics is increasing day by day, from cleaning the ocean to solving different mysteries of ocean life.
Scientists and engineers have made several robots that look like different aquatic creatures so that they can learn more about the ocean and the types of aquatic creatures that live in it.
We all know how polluted the ocean and other water bodies are getting. Humans have polluted the water bodies so much that it would take many years for an ocean to be pollution-free. So Scientists and engineers have invented different types of machines which will help the ocean and other water bodies to minimize pollution.
Also, several startups are devoted to ocean cleanup. They are non-profit tech startups whose main aim is to make the ocean pollution-free and aware people about ocean pollution, how to reduce the waste that goes into the ocean, how our actions contribute to the increase in ocean pollution and what we can do to minimize it.
Discoveries in Ocean-
As of the year 2000, the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) estimated that as much as 95 percent of the world’s oceans and 99 percent of the ocean floor are unexplored. Exploring these regions deep below the ocean’s surface is difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. But the advancement in robotics is making is easier and cheaper for the explorers to discover the new mysteries of the ocean. Because of advanced robots, scientists and researchers are now able to explore more of the ocean, they can go deeper and can observe the amazing events of the ocean more closely. When such robots didn’t exist in the past it was very difficult for the researchers to study the aquatic creatures.
Scientists and engineers have made several robots that look like different aquatic creatures so that they can learn more about the ocean and different types of aquatic creatures. Before it was believed that turtles were vegetarian but later they fitted a camera on a turtle and they saw that the turtle also eats starfishes. Robots also helped them to get data, due to which researchers were able to find at what temperature each creature likes to live in, what sort of food they consume, how they behave in different seasons, etc.
So in this way robotics is helping mankind to know more about oceans and the water bodies. But are we doing anything in return to protect those water bodies?
Do you have any plan to reduce water pollution and make water bodies protected?
